Once again, Charisma editor J Lee Grady astonishes with his willingness to display the dirty linen of neo-Pentecostalism. Recently it was American pastors demanding excessive remuneration for preaching in Europe; this time it’s sex (parentheses in original):
At one charismatic megachurch, staff pastors successfully convinced all their wives and female staff members to get breast implants. (I wonder: Was this discussed at a staff meeting?)
A church in California (known for its revival meetings and prophetic ministry) recently imploded after members learned that several men in the church had been having homosexual affairs with the pastor, who was married.
A leader with an international following (who wears the label of “apostle”) recently informed his leaders that men of God who reach his level of anointing are allowed to have more than one sexual partner. Then his own son offered his wife to his father out of a sense of spiritual obligation.
As ever, no names are named, although Grady does a J’Accuse on Clarence McClendon, a pastor who ditched his wife for another woman, and on Bishop Earl Paulk (an ally of the UK’s Bishop Mike Reid, whom we’ve seen before), who married McClendon to his mistress a week after the divorce came through.

Sir, “Megachurch Pastors Demand Breast Implants” That’s what you call it. Please name names or dont post “news” like this. If this is going on tell us who! Or don’t go spreding it around like a know nothing blaber mouth. Tell us who it is. What church it was in. You know facts! This sort of thing makes you look less like a good researcher and more like an Anti-Xtian. Facts Please! Thanks Dr B.
All I’ve done is to quote J Lee Grady, editor of the most popular Charismatic-Pentecostal magazine in the USA. I also wish he had given us names, but the fact that someone in his authoritative position has chosen to make the allegation is newsworthy in itself.
Here are some names:

Hi Dr. B,
I am wondering what (if any) Scripture was quoted in supposed support of breast implants. I would prefer that names be named, but I’d rather him post the news without names than not post it at all. The Bible does speak of bringing sins out into the light so names would accomplish that. Are you Dr. B a Christian? I ask because if you are I would like to remind you, in Christian love, that namecalling does not glorify God (you referring to someone as a ‘know nothing blabber mouth’).
To our host, This page has many insightful and interesting articles. It is up to date and well run. Obviously, its creator is a person of integrity and ingenuity and I admire them. However, I did think that this particular article is more of the tabloid sort. I felt that the post only served to spread malicious, unfounded and unsubstantiated rumor. That’s my opinion and I am entitled to it. Consequently, I posted a complaint and was amazed at the quick response in defense of the post and even some supplemental material was included. I was satisfied. The host is entitled to their opinion after all it is their page. As for the “name calling” I repent! I have no excuses. I am sorry I grotesquely referred to our hard working and gracious host as a “know nothing blabber mouth.” It was un-civil and below me. I sincerely apologies. (I must say there is nothing more satisfying than being rebuked by a fellow fundy! It keeps us honest and helps restrain us from well… you know making every woman in the congregation have breast implants, having a homosexual liaison with my pastor, giving my wife to my dad and any other unseemly wickedness.) Cheers, Dr. B PS If it is true, please follow up on the breast implant allegation. I would like to understand that particular religious communities theological and doctrinal basis for such boisterous activities.
Hi Dr. B,
Great job on repenting of the “name calling”. I also succumb to this sin at times and like you I have no excuses. Even if our host was not “hard working and gracious”, we still do not have the right as Christians to name-call. You know, us “fellow fundys” (lol) need to help each other to be accountable.
