Charisma Promotes New Satanic Ritual Abuse Claims

From Charisma News:

Ex-Witch Reveals the Ritual Satanic Abuse That Happens on Halloween

Since her salvation in recent years and subsequent inner healings and deliverance, Beth came to realize she was abused in a satanic ritual on Halloween when she was just 3.

“We went to the (Mormon) church and what happened next made my blood curdle. I was given candy, but that was just a prelude to the sexual abuse that would happen in a satanic ritual,” Beth reveals in her blog.

“On Halloween, Satanists use young children, such as myself, as sexual idols to worship. Other children receive a far worse fate. Death…”

This is just one of several articles published by Charisma about Beth Eckert, a woman in her thirties residing in California. Eckert apparently attended a Mormon church in early childhood and later embraced Wicca and occultism, before eventually becoming a Christian.

Charisma News caters to evangelical Christians, particularly neo-Pentecostals; the site’s publisher, Steven Strang, is a significant presence in evangelical Christian media, and according to a statement put out by the Ted Cruz campaign when Cruz gained Strang’s endorsement in January the site “is read by more than 200,000 monthly, with four million unique online visitors per month” (Strang is now an enthusiast for Trump).

Charisma News is most useful for monitoring trends and developments within neo-Pentecostalism, although in recent months it has branched out into purely secular anti-Clinton articles. It also gives a platform to one particular author who promotes David Icke-type conspiracies about elite “Illuminati” Satanic rituals and their potential to create dramatic supernatural irruptions. Eckert’s claims about Satanic abuse are similarly being promoted by the site at face value, despite the cautionary example of the 1980s Satanic Ritual Abuse panic.

The key phrase in the Charisma article is “since her salvation… Beth came to realize”.  An early version of Eckert’s story appeared on a site called Your Spiritual Quest a year ago. According to her account then, she left Mormonism because the religion presented God as “cruel and judging”, but her subsequent years in an occult and New Age milieu were not conducive to her psychological wellbeing or maintaining healthy relations. Although she believes her interests at this time were spiritually harmful, there is nothing about Satanism or child rape.

On her blog, The Other Side of Darkness, we can see how her story developed. In March, she wrote that:

I decided to explore options for counseling. Once I began to dive into the emotional and spiritual depths of my soul, I found the answers I had been seeking. I was horribly abused as a child, by the people who loved me and were supposed to be taking care of me. This was a shocking blow to me, because the abuse was so severe that I actually completely blocked it out. I mean I had no memories whatsoever of any of it. Yet the information I began to receive as revelations from the Holy Spirit, finally started to put my life together like a puzzle that had lost the corner pieces.

In April, she went into specifics:

I am now in a class for women who were sexually abused as children. This class, (called Wounded Heart, after the workbook), has been a big help for me… I was molested, sodomized and raped as a child, in the Mormon Church. The abuse was so terrifying that I completely blocked it from my conscious mind.

The Wounded Heart, by Dan Allender, was first published in 1989. The author heavily promotes the idea of “recovered memories”, and he warns readers that

The denial is an affront to God. It assumes that a false reality is better than truth. It assumes that God is neither good nor strong enough to help during the recall process.

In other words, to doubt the memories you have been told by a counsellor or “deliverance minister” that you’re supposed to have is to commit a sin. This is highly manipulative, and I would go so far as to describe it as a form of psychological abuse.

From suddenly remembering being abused, to being abused in a church setting, to being abused as part of Satanic ritual on Halloween – the arc is depressingly inevitable. In Britain, this kind of “recovered memory” led to the tragic suicides of Caroline Marchant and Carol Felstead, and it is likely that a dubious therapist inspired the lurid allegations made by “Nick” that led to the recent disturbing farce of Operation Midland.

As far as I can tell, Eckert has not contacted the police with her story – even though she’s young enough that her supposed abusers may well still be alive and continuing with their predations. That in itself seems to me to be a tacit admission – either by Eckert herself or those who are helping her to “discover” these memories – that this is not a story that could bear much scrutiny on specific details.

Given Eckert’s obviously vulnerable state and her relative obscurity, this was not a case I really wanted to explore in any detail – but with a high-profile religious media empire irresponsibly using her to promote unsubstantiated allegations that may well lead to innocent people suffering harm, there was little choice.

  1. Excellent expose Richard.

This latest ‘kiss and tell’ is virtually blow-by-blow the same technique used by fundies in the 1990s to ‘confirm’ claims of Satanic Abuse which never existed.

The first person in the U.K. to make embryonic claims about SRA was Doreen Irvine whose book ‘From Witchcraft to Christ’ was first published in 1973. The SAFF took her book apart here:

    http://saff.nfshost.com/dirvine.htm

The book was a best seller amongst the Christian culture and was even distributed in schools to warn pupils off the occult. No one ever said her claims were unfounded or indeed even challenged her allegations. Defending satanists is a bit like defending people falsely accused of being paedophiles. Not done in today’s Xist society!

Supposedly ‘renegade’ occultists who had been converted to Christianity began to surface more frequently after that but it wasn’t until 1988 when the Christian fundamentalist charity The Reachout Trust (previously originated to ‘save’ souls from the Jehova’s Witness sect.) used the theatrical outpourings of Audrey Harper (an ex-Barnardo’s girl) to jump on the embryonic Satanic Ritual Child Abuse bandwagon. Harper’s prior claim to have been present at the sacrifice of a baby in a satanic ritual a decade earlier died a death when it was scotched by a police investigation but was rehashed by Reachout in 1988 to ‘prove’ NSPCC anxieties about SRA. Harper not only acted as a ‘victim’ of SRA but also became a director of the Reachout Trust and appeared in dozens of scare stories in the British Press which all posited SRA as real and fanned the flames of the hysteria. Reachout was the CRUCIAL go-between which sanitised mad SRA claims so they could be injected into the social work and therapy arena. Indeed Reachout personnel appeared at and lectured at ALL the early Satan Seminars which fuelled the scare in ‘the professions’. Harper also appeared in the discredited Cook Report on Satanic Abuse in 1989. She was such a good friend and co-campaigner of Ley-Preacher and MP Geoffrey Dickens (he of the Westminster Dossier fame which powered the latest post-Savile allegations) that Dickens wrote the Foreword for her own pot-boiler ‘Dance with the Devil’.

To anyone with more than a single brain-cell it seems astonishing that agent provocateurs with half-baked stories designed to besmirch a competing religion can gain traction in the modern world but the Media are so corrupt and their Hacks so ambitious and greedy for scoops, that they will in every instance always print the fundamentalists’ propaganda doing society a great disservice in the process. It leads of course to Puritanism taking over.

The current wave of false allegations about VIP abuse in Westminster and its corollary the Celebrity Abuse accusations, occurred in EXACTLY the same way. With pretend victims willing to lie and cheat to obtain attention and compensation for their causes.

The real problem is not so much what loopy fundamentalists say, which is clearly barmy to most people, but how the Child Scare Industry monopolises their lies in order to expand its own remit, gain more influence, enact more bad laws which incriminate innocents and generally work up the hysteria to suit it’s own greedy funding apparatuses.

    • Both of you need deliverance cause you state that only what you want to believe and did not even asked God for wisdom and His truth aboard it. Consulting your own carnal mind is dangerous . To me it looks like you are the gods that judges. May you find the peace of Christ.

      • Thanks Ernest!
Yes, I found a piece of Christ once. I was like: “eew! what’s that?” and my mother said: “don’t touch it, you don’t know where its been”.

        :)

  2. Let’s be real the Catholic Church has paid out about $2 billion in damages for priests molestating kids. Impossible. No it happened. If you said thirty years ago the Catholic Church was going to be paying $2 billion in damages, people would have laughed at you. Maybe in the next twenty years time the truth will come out. I read a book about a girl in the Mormon Church. Some sad sick place.

  3. Hi,
I can’t speak for other Christians who have come out of the occult, but I can speak on good authority that Doreen Irvine is legit.
The pastor of our Baptist church who is now retired was the son of the preacher who who helped Doreen with her christian walk he cast the Devils out of her in the name of JESUS CHRIST.
Doreen did speak the truth and the Covern tried to place curses on the preacher who Christ used to deliver her.
The church prayed for his protection.

  4. False memory syndrome was created by two psychologists whose own children accused them of sexual abuse to cover up claims of pedophile networks abusing massive numbers of kids. It isn’t hysteria, look at the coach sandusky and the college that covered for it. Look at dr. Nassar, the u.s.a. olympic gymnast coaches and university that covered for him. The only people that cover for pedophiles are people hiding their own dirt. It’s a bigger problem than just a few powerful pedophiles. It’s a worldwide satanic network of hidden secret abuse.

    • Calvin klein had a series of commercials that were banned from tv in the nineties for being pedophilic. Then a few years later one of the models in those commercials was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12 year old boy, that former c.k. model ended up commiting suicide in his thirties in bowling green kentucky. Also Look at how many celebrities were willing to accept roman polanski and downplay his rape of a 12 year old girl. Woody allen…. jefferey epstein… satanism is real and those anton leVay clowns are just there to misrepresent what real satanism is. Satan is the god of this world and i know SRA is real. Im sure some public testimonies of sra are purposely false to descredit the genuine claims but sra is real and way more common than the public is led to believe

  5. Anytime someone has their comments disabled, they are suspected liars, because they are deliberately shutting down communication between the viewers. So, I was watching a Jesse Lee Peterson video and someone in the comments mentioned Beth Eckert being a reformed witch and exposing the occult blah blah. I went to her channel and clicked on a video where she talks about being raised Mormon and that it is a satanic cult. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m an ex-Mormon. I grew up Mormon. I experienced all the teachings and rituals of Mormonism apart from the endowment and Temple sealing because I left the Church when I was 22 before I got married or served a mission. Now, I’m at the point in her video where she talks about getting her endowments at the age of 8. Mormons do NOT endow children. It is a ceremony that takes place ONLY if you’re going to serve a mission or get sealed in the Temple. I do believe you can request to “take out your endowments” at any time as an adult but people usually only do this when they’re much older and it’s clear that they aren’t going to serve a mission or get married. The only rituals children take part in at 8 are their baptisms which is wacky enough, believe me. Asking a child to align themselves with any ideology is abuse in my opinion, but the fact of the matter is that endowments do not happen at age 8. Also, children get baptized at the local ward house NOT the temple and it’s called a baptismal font NOT a baptismal “pool”. Now, don’t get me wrong. I do believe that Mormonism hovers dangerously close to being classified as a Christian cult even as benign as it may seem. It is founded by a liar, adulterer, and ephebophiliac. The “religion” is indeed a lie. There are no claims made by Mormons regarding the voracity of the Church that can be substantiated in ANY way either historically or archaeologically. There is not a single shred of evidence that any of the events written in The Book of Mormon actually happened. We have all sorts of relics that can be placed throughout the history of mankind but not a single sword or sheath from any of the wars that supposedly took place in the Book of Mormon? I could go on and on about this and provide evidence in great detail how Mormon prophets are “false prophets”. It is NOT, however, a satanic cult. It’s just another organized religion that was made by men to control and extract money from other men. Beth Eckert is a liar and she should be ashamed of herself, but maybe she should get a free pass because she is clearly mentally ill.
